Ideas behind Memability

Traditional approach for structuring notes leads to messHave you ever struggled trying to organize your notes, give them proper structure using conventional mobile notes application?
Well, we had. It probably doesn’t matter, whether your app supports hierarchies or not, if all what you have is a bunch of recipies or a simple to-do list.
But what if you want to keep notes related to the dozen of projects you are currently working on?
What if you want to keep ideas related to those projects in different buckets (like “Must-haves”, “Maybes” etc).
What if you want to keep your personal to-do list and your shopping list and a hundred of other “lists”, “tasks” and “notes” in a single application?
Will you be able to organize all this data properly using only two level structure (“Notepad”, “Notes”) plus “tags” offered in most of the traditional mobile productivity tools?
Well, we couldn’t, so we started working on our own notes application – Memability.

The essense of Memability is the unlimited hierarchy support. Note inside note inside note that is. Just like files and folders on your PC or Mac. Only better.
When you create a file or a folder on the computer, you have to know whether you want to create a file or a folder. With Memability you don’t have to choose. Just create a note.
When you have some additional information, simply create a sub-note of that note and so on. Nice and easy. When you see that you need to change the structure of your notes or extend it for any reason, fear not! Memability has got you covered.

With hierarchy support in mind, Memability is built for the ultimate user experience. We worked really hard to optimize location and appearence of every button and even had to invent new ways and principles that simplify and enhance user experince.

Here is our main focus points while building Memability:

  • Best possible user experience through DnD support and other close-to-native ways of interaction
  • Unlimited notes hierarchy support
  • Easy and fast hierarchy managing (take note form here and place it over there)
  • Easy navigation through the hierarchies
  • “Enter notes fast, structure them later” approach
  • To be implemented: Easy data discovery (once the note is in, you should be able to find it easily no matter, whether you have 7 notes or 70000 notes in your app)
  • To be implemented: Fast background sync between the devices + web access to your notes
  • To be implemented: Import / export + integration with other apps
